Entering level II data on commercial and business transactions can reduce your interchange costs on your commercial, government (GSA), fleet and purchasing transactions.
Commercial Data Rate II Not Eligible: Travel and Entertainment – Restaurants (MCC 5812), Hotels (MCC 3501-3999, 7011), Car Rentals (MCC 3351-3500, 7512, 7513, 7519), and Passenger Transport (MCC 3000-3299, 4511, 4112).
Below are requirements, however they only apply to MasterCard, Visa has separate requirements for level 2 processing which we will cover in a future blog.
- Key-enter transaction, obtain customer’s signature when transaction is face-to-face.
- Obtain and pass 1 valid electronic authorization.
- Settle within 2 days
- Must pass Level II Data
- Authorization and settlement MCC must match
- Level 1 – 4 apply to Business Core, World Business and World Elite Business cards. The level will be determined by MasterCard cardholder spending limits.
